WHY DONATE MONEY?
Your donations support yearly trips (Johns Brook Lodge, Presidential Range Trip, Whitewater Rafting, and the Jay Peak, New Hampshire, and Tuckerman's Ravine Ski Trips.) In addition, they help fund a rotating "epic" trip, such as the 2017 summer Moab trip and the 2018 spring New River Gorge Trip. The Outing Club pays 80% of these trips and asks families to pay 20% to reserve their spot and show their commitment. If a family asks for assistance, the Club will pay 100% of a child's trip costs. The Club relies on grants as well as your generous donations to fund these trips.
WHY DONATE TIME?
LPOC depends on parent volunteers to lead trips. The more trips offered, the more fun all of our children will have. We want our calendar to be full of trips of varying abilities.
WHY VOLUNTEER?
We also rely on parents and kids volunteering their time at the Lake Placid Marathon, the Ironman, and the Half Ironman. We receive sizable checks from these organizations, and these help to fund our "epic" trips. Moreover, it's great for our kids to be out helping our community.
